If you follow us on social media (of course you do!), there's no doubt you saw some breathtaking views of the Mendocino Coast over Easter weekend as our family traversed up the California coast. While the views from the region were absolutely gorgeous, there was one leading light from the trip no one could miss, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica.
Packed with enough power to tackle the tallest mountains thanks to a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine, the Chrysler Pacifica delivers 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, and full of family-friendly amenities you'd expect from the vehicle named The Best New Family Vehicle of 2017, the winner of KBB's Best Buy Award, and the winner of the IIHS Top Safety Pick+, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica tops our family-friendly vehicle reviews for 2017.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Review
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited edition features an all-inclusive interior built for a large family like our own. With ample room and seating for eight thanks to the Stow ‘n Go® Seating and Storage System with Easy Tilt Seating, the Chrysler Pacifica eliminates the days of climbing through the truck to reach the third row.
As you can see in the photo above, the Pacifica has the option to add an enticing entertainment unit behind the driver's and passenger's seat. The available Uconnect® Theater features dual 10.1-inch HD touchscreens with Blu-ray™ player, dual HDMI inputs, wireless headphones, Bluetooth® remotes, downloadable games, and apps is the perfect backseat babysitter for those long trips. With games including License Plate Game, Backseat Bingo, Tic-Tac-Toe, and Math Flash Cards, you'll be assured your little ones are passing the time with good clean wholesome fun.
Up front, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica puts convenience at hand with the 8.4-inch touchscreen. Not only can you get help from Siri® Eyes Free the iPhone® mobile device digital assistant, you will also enjoy rocking out with the available 20-speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Surround Sound System, plus tunes from the available SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with a one-year subscription.
During our trip, we quickly learned that one our kid's favorite features on the Chrysler Pacifica was the tri-pane panoramic sunroof. From the towering redwood forest to the highest buildings in San Francisco, the panoramic sunroof kept our kids connected to the great outdoors, even on the rainiest of days.
And, as a mother of four children, one of my favorite amenities in the Pacifica is the Stow ‘N Vac™, a powerful vacuum which extends throughout the entire cabin. Best of all, the Stow ‘N Vac™ is so simple to use that kids can do their part to help keep the vehicle clean.
The Chrysler Pacifica offers more that 100 standard and available safety and security features keeping you feeling well protected on every drive. An available 360° Surround View Camera provides a bird's eye view while the available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking detects if your vehicle is approaching another vehicle too rapidly. It assists by proving both audible and visual warnings as well as applying the brakes if needed.
Adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go maintains a set distance between your Pacifica and the vehicle in front of it, and parallel and perpendicular parking is made easy with the availableParkSense® Rear Park Assist System with Stop. Additional available safety options include Rear Cross Path Detection, Lanesense Lane Departure Aarning with Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring System.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica MSRP From $28,995, As Driven From $34,995.
Our family was provided the opportunity to test drive the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. No compensation was provided and all opinions are my own.
