Celebrate the Holidays at the Aquarium of the Pacific December 5th through December 24th, 2015.
Aquarium of the Pacific Holiday Tree Lighting
Aquarium mascots Ray and Polar Bear were on hand today to celebrate the aquarium's annual holiday tree lighting. As guests posed with Ray and Polar Bear minutes before the tree lighting, Santa Diver plunged into position to help usher in the holidays.
Once the lights were dimmed, the official holiday tree in the Great Hall of the Aquarium of the Pacific was lit much to the children's joy and excitement.
Adding to the spirit of the day was the ‘snow' falls in the Great Hall. Children enjoyed frolicking in the ‘snow' as it gently fell to the ground around them.
In addition to the holiday tree and ‘snow' fall, guests who attend the holiday celebration at the aquarium will enjoy watching Santa Diver give ‘fish'mas gifts to the animals, photo opportunities with Santa in his official attire, a real snow play area outside the front lawn (weather permitting), the Penguin Walk, and live holiday music.
Guests will also have the opportunity to witness it ‘snow' in the Great Hall, see a gingerbread house display, enjoy a special holiday menu at Cafe Scuba, and explore the gift store full of holiday gifts.
Holiday Treats for the Animals
The Holiday Treats for the Animals festival takes place December 5th and December 6th, where the sea otter exhibit will be deck out for the ‘sea'son with ‘fish'mas treats and a real snowman. You can even watch the otters savor candy cane-shaped lobster treats.
Throughout the weekend, aquarium staff will give special gift delicacies to penguins, sea lions, and other marine animals. Children will have the opportunity to enjoy holiday crafts and a Hanukkah storytelling and dreidel activity.
