Discovery Cube LA celebrates summer with two new interactive, hands-on science exhibits; Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog and Animal Grossology.
Discovery Cube LA offers exhibits, field trips, and assembly programs to allow kids to think and learn using their hands. Their science education programs align with the Next Generation Science Standards and their professional development workshops for educators provide cutting-edge methods for instruction, high quality lesson plans, and hands-on activities to integrate into the classroom.
Discovery Cube LA is also in the process of creating a home-school program to help bring science into home classrooms, giving parents an opportunity to teach science through hands on learning.
Discovery Cube LA Summer Exhibits – Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog & Animal Grossology
Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog
Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog transports you to the world of Clifford, Emily Elizabeth, and all the residents of Birdwell Island. When exploring the exhibit, you will encounter the people and places that make up Clifford’s world!
The exhibit offers paws-on adventures that reinforce “Clifford’s Big Ideas.” These 10 simple, tangible, life lessons are designed to help young children navigate their world.
Located in Clifford's own backyard on Birdwell Island, children can playfully explore the exhibit’s themed areas including: Samuel's Fish & Chips Snacks, Musical Marina, T-Bone's Beach, Clifford's Dog House, Emily's Backyard Theater and The Howard's House, Cleo's Backyard, Birdwell Island Post Office, and the Birdwell Island Library and Norman Birdwell Art Retrospective.
Ever wonder why dogs sniff each other’s rear ends, why cows need four stomachs to digest their food, or why cats spit up hair balls? You can find out the answers to all these nasty questions and more at Animal Grossology! Get up close and personal with some of the slimiest, stinkiest and downright yuckiest creatures on Earth through hands-on, interactive displays.
The interactive displays include: Dookie Lovers, Blood Suckers, Slime Makers, Vomit Munchers, and much more!
