Let's be honest. While so many of us love social media it can also be painful, especially when you're on a personal health or weight loss journey. That’s why I’m excited to share with you all about Z Living’s newest show, The Big Fat Truth. While gaining weight during pregnancy was never a problem for me, losing the weight was, and seeing celebrities, family, and friends being able to shed those pregnancy pounds with seemingly little or no effort was detrimental and damaging to my self-esteem. While I always knew not everything I perceived online was true, it made becoming healthy a greater challenge that it should have been. I would never have thought getting pregnant again would be the motivation I needed to begin my journey to healthy lifestyle changes to lose weight.
Healthy Lifestyle Changes to Lose Weight
Pregnancy: it's supposed to be the one of the happiest times in your life, but when you have a doctor who is strict on your weight gain it can also be one of the most stressful times in your life. You see, I never gained the recommended amount of weight a gal should gain when pregnant. I gained the recommended amount times two or three, and with our first babies being twins you can imagine how stretched out my body became. But no matter how big I got with each pregnancy, I knew I was nurturing little lives: lives that meant more to me than stretchmarks.
It wasn't until one night just weeks after our twins were born when a lady came up to me and said, ‘Your twins are so cute, and you're expecting again?' that my heart sank. Was I really expected to lose my pregnancy weight so quickly? As quick as celebrities seemingly lose their weight?
The Big Fat Truth, a new reality series on Z Living, addresses the real reasons people struggle with weight, and gives them the tools and the optimism they need to transform their lives. Using problem-solving and motivational skills, award-winning producer JD Roth takes on the challenge to help save the lives of our greatest unsung heroes. Even though I knew what I saw online, on television, wasn't reality, it still hurt to be judged the way I was, with unrealistic expectations of weight loss. When I became pregnant with our fourth child, I realized there's more to life than just a number. I realized I needed to embark on my journey to healthy lifestyle changes to lose weight not just for me, but for my children and my spouse. While my weight may not be the ideal weight for my size, I know our family is eating clean and living the healthiest lifestyle possible.
I have four amazing reasons why I need to be healthy, and I want you to be healthy with me. Join me and take the FREE Big Fat 30 Day Challenge to get health and wellness tips from executive producer JD Roth, who became a reality-TV pioneer, championing “transformation television” – programming that celebrates the ability of people to make real changes and improve their lives.
