These lace printed air dry clay mini plant pots will make a lovely addition to the home décor. They would look great displayed on a shelf or windowsill with pretty flowers, plants or small cacti.
Air dry clay
Take a medium sized piece of air dry clay and use the rolling pin to flatten it until it is about a quarter of an inch thick. Use a knife to cut the clay into a long strip that is approximately three inches tall. Then create a scalloped edge to the top of the clay.
Cut a piece of lace and gently place it onto the centre of the strip of clay. Then roll the rolling pin over the top of the lace a few times to press the pattern into the clay. Carefully pull back the piece of lace, revealing the pattern underneath. Then use a straw to create small circles into the scalloped edges.
Take another piece of air dry clay and roll flat until it is just under half an inch thick. Use the knife to cut a small circle out of this, the size of this circle will be the width of the plant pot. Then take the strip of lace printed clay that you have created and carefully wrap it around this circle and trim off any excess clay. Leave to dry over night.
Once the clay has completely dried, paint the top of the scalloped edge of the plant pot with some gold paint. Once the paint has dried it will be ready to use.
