Rustic Mason Jar Vase
- Mason jar
- White string
Step 1 – If your jar still has a label on then soak it in warm soapy water until it starts to peel off. Peel the label off of the jar as best you can – it does not matter if a little bit won't come off as it can be covered with the burlap. Dry the jar and then cut a piece of burlap long enough that it can wrap all the way around, and wide enough that it covers most of the height of the jar. Glue one end of it and stick to the back of the jar. Cover the other end in glue, wrap around the jar and stick in place
Step 2 – Cut a strip of white lace long enough that it can wrap around the jar. Glue one end of the lace and stick to the center of the burlap on the back of the jar. Glue the other end of the lace, wrap around and stick in place.
Step 3 – Cut two pieces of the white string a bit longer than the circumference of the jar – longer is better as you can always trim it down later. Wrap one piece of string around the jar, underneath the lace, and tie in place. Do the same with the other piece of string, however, tie it above the lace. Trim the ends of the string if necessary.
Then cut a piece of twine long enough that it can easily wrap around the jar 3-4 times. Wrap the twine around the top of the jar two or three times and then tie in place at the front with a bow. Your vase is finished and you can now add pretty plants and flowers and put it on display.
