Butterfly Pencil Topper
- Black pen
- Pipe cleaners
- Double sided tape/glue
- Googly eyes
- Foam sheets
Step 1 – Choose three different colored sheets of foam and cut out the shapes to make a butterfly. The shapes you will need to cut out are: the wings, the body and four small circles for decoration.
Step 2 – Using either double sided tape or glue, stick the body shape onto the butterfly wings. Then stick the four foam circles onto each section of the wing shape. Stick two small googly eyes onto the butterfly's face and use a black pen to draw a smile underneath.
Step 3 – Wrap a pipe cleaner around the top of the pencil about six times to create a spiral. Then bend the remaining end of the pipe cleaner directly upwards. Remove the pencil and stick the end of the pipe cleaner to the back of the butterfly, trimming the end off if necessary. Then push the spiral onto the top of your pencil and watch it bounce around when you're writing.
