DIY Lion Bookmark
Materials:
- Foam sheets (yellow, orange, pink)
- Scissors
- Double sided tape (or glue)
- Googly eyes
- Black pen
- Pencil
Instructions:
Step 1 – Use a pencil to lightly draw the shape of your bookmark onto the yellow sheet of foam. This shape should look similar to the one in the photo below, with a round shape at the top, for the lion's head, two arms and a long rectangular shape below. Carefully cut this shape out with the scissors. Make sure the two arms are only attached at the top of the bookmark by cutting two slits, this will allow the arms to peek over the top of the page.
Step 2 – Place the yellow bookmark on top of the orange sheet of foam and lightly draw around the head with the pencil. Then cut out the lion's mane, ensuring that it is larger than the size of the head. Carefully cut out a circle from the middle of the mane that is slightly smaller than the size of the head, then use the double-sided tape, or glue, to stick it onto the bookmark.
Step 3 – Create the lion's face by sticking on two googly eyes, a nose made from a pink sheet of foam, and draw on the mouth with a black pen. To finish your bookmark use the black pen two draw the paw marks onto the lion's paws. When placing the bookmark in your book, slide the rectangular shape behind the page and put the two arms in front, holding it in place, and when the book is closed the lion's face will pop up from the top of the book.
