This is a sponsored post on behalf of Foster Farms, who is helping us rule our roost with Easy Back to School Meals!
Getting in the groove of your back to school routine doesn't have to be difficult, especially when it comes to meal time. Instead of stressing over weekly meal planning, simplify your dinners with the help of quick and easy frozen foods that can go from the freezer to table in under 30 minutes, like Foster Farms range of tasty, protein-rich, super easy-to-prepare meals your family will love. Just think about how stocking up on Foster Farms frozen crispy strips, buffalo wings, chicken nuggets, and corn dogs can help you go from freezer to table in under 30 minutes.
And if you’re not familiar with Foster Farms Saute Ready pre-cut and marinated frozen chicken – look for them at your local supermarket. You’re going to love how each of their four different seasoned varieties (Asian Style, Fajita, Garlic Herb and Lemon Pepper) can combine in a skillet with rice or veggies or pasta to make a fast, hearty and delicious dinner (up to 7 servings per bag). And all in just ten minutes!
Check out how we make easy back to school meals at our house and get the kids involved in meal planning. And don't miss one of my favorite healthier, easy to prepare mid-week meals, my BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad Recipe.
Easy Back to School Meals
Take the stress of weekly meal planning by getting your kids involved in the process. For our family, we have a weekly kid's night where our children get to pick the meal, and you won't believe how simple our system is.
Each week, I place a selection of Post-It notes on the fridge with various dinner options featuring a protein, vegetable, and additional side dish. Then, collectively, our kids work together to plan one meal they want that week. Not only does this get kids excited about helping in the kitchen, it also reinforces teamwork and cooperation skills. This week's meal, their favorite Foster Farms Crispy Strips, zucchini, and macaroni and cheese.
Did I mention we love Foster Farms Corn Dogs too? We do!
BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad Recipe
While our kids love carb rich side dishes like pasta, rice, and potatoes, I like to keep my meals a little lighter with a protein-rich, fresh salad recipe.
One my favorite ways to enjoy Foster Farms Crispy Strips is atop a crisp BBQ Ranch Salad. If you're really short on time, you can even buy a prepackaged salad from the store, making meal time even easier.
If you prefer to prepare your salad from scratch, here are some of our favorite ingredients to include.
- Foster Farms Crispy Strips, prepared
- Romaine lettuce, chopped
- broccoli stalk
- red cabbage
- savoy cabbage
- green onion
- carrots, shredded
- chili-lime mini tortilla chips
- Ranch dressing
- BBQ sauce
- Cook Foster Farms Crispy Strips as directed.
- Combine Romaine lettuce, broccoli stalk, red cabbage, savoy cabbage, green onion, and carrots in a large bowl. Top with tortilla chips. Set aside.
- Slice cooked Foster Farms Crispy Strips and lay on top of salad.
- Top with Ranch dressing and BBQ sauce. Serve immediately.
