Frozen – Live at the Hyperion Opens at Disney California Adventure Park
I cried. I laughed. I cried. Then, I laughed some more. Delightful in many ways, Frozen Live at the Hyperion takes audiences on an emotional journey through the story of the relationship between Anna and Elsa, their coming of age, and conquering their worst fears in a phenomenal live show based on Walt Disney Studios number one animated film of all time, Frozen.
The show, geared towards adults and children alike, will warm your heart as your family experiences Frozen, the winner of two Academy Awards (2014) for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, like you never imagined.
The Frozen Live Cast Comes to Life
Anna's awkward humor we have all come love is perfectly portrayed in this live show and lends to the comedy of the performance, balancing out the passion and heartfelt emotion between Elsa and Anna which manifests more profoundly on stage.
The animated characters of Olaf and Sven come to life with the help of cast members who remain partially visible from under their body puppets, using their facial expressions to contribute to the their character's on-stage emotions.
The climax of the show? That falls on Elsa as she sings her famous song Let It Go atop a glittering staircase that swings over the audience as a giant snow flake lowers from the ceiling and bubbly snow falls over the audience.
The live show, built much like a Broadway musical, features several fan favorite songs including: Vuelie; Let It Go; Do You Want to Build a Snowman?; Love Is an Open Door; Reindeer(s) Are Better Than People; In Summer; Fixer Upper; Conceal, and Don't Feel. Though dancing in the aisles is not permitted during this show for the safety of guests and characters, you're sure to find yourself singing along with the cast to your favorite Frozen songs.
A specially lit ‘Aurora' curtain surrounds the theater to immerse guests in the world of Frozen from the moment they enter the theater. As the musical unfolds, the scenic design and large moving set pieces create a cinema-style energy enhanced by state-ofthe-art projections that create dynamic environments for the performers. Custom sound design envelops the audience in music and audio effects. And, of course, there will be snow throughout the interior of the theater – on stage and over the audience.
